Baía do Sancho is earned
Voted the world's best beach by TripAdvisor several times. Access is via two vertical ladders set into the cliff, with tide windows to check. Go at 8am.
Atalaia natural pool: limited slots
Maximum 30 minutes floating, no sunscreen, free reservation at the ICMBio visitor center. Slots vanish fast in high season.
Foreign card: pay the TPA at the airport
Online TPA payment only accepts Brazilian cards. With a foreign card, you settle at the Noronha airport counter on arrival.
Must-see
Golden sand, emerald water and cliffs draped in green. The ladder through the rock crevice is part of the adventure.
A small cove facing the Morro Dois Irmãos peaks, with natural pools at low tide. Noronha's postcard shot.
A low-tide aquarium: boxfish, juvenile lemon sharks, baby turtles. 30 minutes on the clock, reservation required.
30-50 m visibility, turtles, rays, reef sharks. One of Brazil's best dive zones. Intro dive ~R$600-700, fun dive ~R$550.
Hundreds of spinner dolphins enter the bay at first light. Watch from the clifftop lookout; swimming in the bay is banned.
A long sandy beach below Dois Irmãos. From December to March, the swell makes it one of Brazil's best surf breaks.
Swim alongside green turtles grazing the seagrass beds. Flotation vest mandatory, mask rental on site.
The historic village: baroque church, ruins of the 1737 Portuguese fort and sunset over the harbor.
A guided 5 km hike along the volcanic coast to the Caieira pools. ICMBio-accredited guide mandatory.
The evening ritual: Dois Irmãos in view, live music and caipirinhas as the sun drops into the Atlantic.

Getting around
Rental buggy
The island's signature vehicle. Easy driving on the single BR-363 road and dirt tracks. Book before arrival in high season.
Public bus
One line runs the BR-363 from the harbor to Sueste roughly every 30 minutes. The budget plan B that actually works.
Mototaxi
Fast for a one-way hop between the village and a beach. Zone-based fares; agree on the price before riding.
On foot + trails
The northwest beaches chain together on foot along the coast. Long park trails (Atalaia, Capim-Açu) require an accredited guide.
