How much is the Cambodia visa in 2026? +

The e-visa is back to $30 since January 2025 (down from $36). Apply online at evisa.gov.kh, 3 business days, 30-day validity. Visa on arrival also available at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville airports for $30, but tedious. The e-Arrival Card is mandatory, free, to be filled 7 days before entry.

How many days do you need in Cambodia? +

Minimum 10 days for Siem Reap (Angkor 3 days) + Phnom Penh + Battambang or Kampot. 14 days is ideal to add the islands (Koh Rong) or Mondulkiri. 3 weeks allows a Cambodia + Vietnam or + Thailand combination.

When to go to Cambodia? +

November to February: the best window, dry and cool (25-30 °C). March to May: very hot, 35-40 °C in Phnom Penh. June to October: monsoon, milder temperatures but Angkor sometimes flooded. Temples are however greener and more photogenic in the wet season.

Is Cambodia safe in 2026? +

Generally safe for tourists. Standard vigilance on pickpocketing in Phnom Penh, and tuk-tuk scams in Siem Reap. Border areas around Pailin and Preah Vihear still have landmines off marked paths. Never wander off marked trails around Angkor.

Do you need USD cash in Cambodia? +

Yes. US dollars circulate alongside the Cambodian riel (1 USD ≈ 4,100 KHR) and are accepted everywhere. ATMs available in all cities ($4-5 fee per withdrawal). Bring $100-200 in small bills on arrival, including $1 notes for tips and tuk-tuks.

How to get around Cambodia? +

Long-distance bus (Giant Ibis, Mekong Express): comfortable, $6-12 between major cities. Tuk-tuk in town. Motorbike taxi (Grab/PassApp) in Phnom Penh. Domestic flights Cambodia Angkor Air to save time (Phnom Penh-Siem Reap 45 min, ~€80). Boats to islands from Sihanoukville.

Can you combine Cambodia with Vietnam or Thailand? +

Yes, it's actually the most common format. Bangkok-Siem Reap by direct bus 8h or flight 1h. Phnom Penh-Ho Chi Minh by bus 6h or boat up the Mekong (2 days, magical). 3 weeks allows Bangkok → Cambodia → Vietnam comfortably.

E-visa or visa on arrival? +

E-visa is simpler: all online, no airport queue, same price ($30) since 2025. Visa on arrival useful for land entry from Thailand or Vietnam, but bring $30 cash + 1 photo + patience at borders (1-2h).
