Seoul, a 10-million megacity
Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon hanok village, night markets, K-pop and design cafés. An ultra-connected capital where tradition meets skyscrapers. Allow 3 to 4 days minimum.
K-ETA waived for French and EU travelers through end of 2026
South Korea extended the K-ETA exemption for 67 nationalities (including France and most of the EU) until December 31, 2026. Since January 2026, the e-Arrival Card (online arrival declaration) is mandatory.
Natural combo with Japan
Seoul-Tokyo or Seoul-Osaka flight in 2h, Busan-Fukuoka ferry. The South Korea + Japan loop in 3 weeks is one of the most logical East Asia combos by geography and flights.
Four very distinct seasons
Cherry blossoms late March to early April, hot humid summer, blazing autumn foliage in October, dry cold winter with snow on the mountains. Each season shows a different face of the country.
Fast and reliable transport
The KTX high-speed train links Seoul to Busan in 2h40. Dense metro network, punctual long-distance buses, rechargeable T-money card valid everywhere. Getting around is simple and fast.
Calendar
Temperate climate with four sharp seasons. The two best windows are spring (April-May, cherry blossoms and mild weather) and autumn (September-November, clear skies and foliage). To avoid if possible: July-August (Jangma monsoon then typhoons, heavy heat) and deep winter (December-February, dry sub-zero cold).
