FAQ

Siem Reap FAQ

How many days to visit Siem Reap and Angkor? +
Three days are ideal: one for the small circuit (Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm), one for Tonle Sap lake and culture, one for distant temples like Banteay Srei. Two days are enough if time is short, in which case the 3-day Angkor Pass is still the better value.
How much is the Angkor entrance ticket? +
The Angkor Pass costs about $37 for 1 day, $62 for 3 days (usable over 10 days) and $72 for 7 days. Buy it at the official ticket office or online. Keep it on you, it is checked at every temple.
What's the best neighborhood to stay in Siem Reap? +
Old Market (Psar Chas) to do everything on foot near Pub Street. Wat Bo for quiet and authenticity on the riverside. The Riverside area towards the temple road for upscale resorts.
How do you get around the Angkor temples? +
The full-day tuk-tuk ($15 to $20) is the simplest option: a driver follows you from site to site. A bicycle suits the small circuit, flat and close by. For distant temples, an air-conditioned car with driver is more comfortable.
Do you need a visa to go to Siem Reap? +
Yes, Cambodia requires a tourist visa for most nationalities, obtainable as an e-visa or on arrival. See our Cambodia visa guide for the steps and 2026 fees.
