How to get around
Rajasthan is best covered with a private driver (~€32/day all-in) over 14 days, given the distances between cities. Night trains also link the main stops (Jodhpur-Jaisalmer). For the long final leg Jaisalmer-Udaipur, a domestic flight via Jodhpur saves half a day.

Adapt by season
This circuit crosses the Thar Desert (Jaisalmer), at its best from November to February: cool nights, days of 22-26 °C, ideal for camping under the stars. From April to June Rajasthan turns scorching (45 °C), so avoid the desert. From July to September a light monsoon greens the south (Udaipur) but stays low-key in Rajasthan. December-January: pack a fleece for the desert nights.
