Adapt by season
This grand tour adds the arid southwest (Barahona, Pedernales), drier than the rest of the island. From December to April, ideal conditions everywhere, 27 to 31°C, and whales in Samaná from mid-January to late March. From June to November, the August-September hurricane peak mainly threatens the north and east coasts. In summer, keep the better-sheltered southwest and center, and shorten the north coast.
