How to get around
A week entirely linked by the AVE: no domestic flight, no car. The three high-speed legs each take 2h30 and cost €40 to €90 if you book 2 to 3 months ahead.

Adapt by season
Seville and Madrid often top 38°C in July-August, with deserted afternoons. On this week, keep the Andalusian sightseeing to early morning and evening, or shift the trip to May-June or September-October, which are milder. If you travel in peak summer, add a beach half-day in Barcelona and favour air-conditioned sites (the Alcázar, the Prado) during the hottest hours.
