Adapt by season
This short route heads for the desert from day 4. From March to May and September to November, Tozeur and Douz stay pleasant by day (25 to 32 °C). In July-August the heat tops 40 °C in the afternoon in the south: pack the desert programme into the early morning, or swap the Saharan loop for two beach nights in Hammamet if you travel in summer.
