How to get around
A short week combines the scenic Oslo-Flåm train, a Nærøyfjord cruise, then a rental car for the mountain roads. The Norway in a Nutshell package bundles the train and boat segments.
Train Oslo → Myrdal → Flåm
€150 · Bergen Line + Flåmsbana · 6 h · book on vy.no
Aurlandsfjord-Nærøyfjord cruise
€90 · 2 h · silent hybrid boat
Car rental Flåm → Bergen
€80/day · essential for Geiranger · tolls and ferries extra
Ferry Hellesylt → Geiranger
€10/vehicle · 1 h · waterfall panorama
Adapt by season
This western-fjords route runs May to September, when the mountain roads (Trollstigen, Eagle Road) are open and the midnight sun lasts until 11pm. Between October and April the Geiranger road closes: stick to the Oslo, Flåm, Bergen axis (open year-round by train) and chase the northern lights up north in Tromsø instead, on a separate flight.
